Hit London musical Hadestown has revealed a brand new West End cast at the Lyric Theatre.

The show is also extending its run in London, going into a third year and playing until 13 December 2026.

Hadestown blends modern American folk with vintage New Orleans jazz, to reimagine the ancient Greek myths of Orpheus and Eurydice, and Hades and Persephone, as a haunting, contemporary musical journey through the underworld.

What you need to know: Hadestown goes into its third year in the West End in February, and this strong new cast is a message of intent that it will be here by its fourth birthday. House of the Dragon’s Bethany Antonia and Hamilton star Marley Fenton are an exciting pairing as Eurydice & Orpheus; and Hades and Persephone are in safe hands with Alastair Parker and Rachel Adedeji. Clive Rowe will add huge amounts of personality to the pivotal role of Hermes. Strong voices all round.

Hadestown new cast

The new cast starts at the Lyric Theatre on 10 March 2026, and includes:

  • The X Factor’s Rachel Adedeji (Thriller Live!, Jesus Christ Superstar, Hollyoaks) as Persephone
  • Bethany Antonia (House of the Dragon) as Eurydice
  • Marley Fenton (The Wizard of Oz, Hamilton) as Orpheus
  • Alastair Parker (Matilda, Oliver!) as Hades
  • Olivier Award-winner Clive Rowe (Guys & Dolls, Company) as Hermes
  • The fates are Spike Maxwell, Melanie Bright and Lauran Rae
  • The workers are Gabriela Benedetti, Femi Akinfolarin, Michelle Andrews, Ollie Bingham, and Sebastian Lim-Seet
  • The swings are Juan Jackson, Oisín Nolan-Power, Lindo Shinda, Jasmine Triadi and Milly Willows

Featuring music, lyrics, and book by Anaïs Mitchell, and directed by Tony Award-winner Rachel Chavkin, Hadestown is the winner of 8 Tony Awards including Best Musical.

The cast currently features, until 8 March 2026, Desmonda Cathabel (Disney’s Aladdin) as Eurydice, Dylan Wood (No Love Songs) as Orpheus, Joy Wielkens (The Mountaintop) as Persephone, Chris Jarman (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child) as Hades, and Daniel Breaker (Hamilton) as Hermes.
