The major new production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s hit musical CATS has added more tour dates.
The show is set for a major reboot this year by Drew McOnie (Jesus Christ Superstar, The Artist), Artistic Director of Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre, who will direct and choreograph the new production.
CATS will open at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre on 25 July 2026, playing for 7 weeks only in London until 12 September 2026.
The musical will then embark on a major UK and Ireland tour from October 2026, with dates already announced including Plymouth, Hull, Birmingham, Manchester, Bristol, Llandudno, and Glasgow.
Two new dates have now been revealed with the show coming to Southampton’s Mayflower Theatre in March and April 2027, and Cardiff’s Wales Millennium Centre in May 2027.
Further tour dates will be announced shortly.
The CATS London production and tour is co-produced by Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre and Michael Harrison for Lloyd Webber Harrison Musicals (Evita, Sunset Boulevard).
Cats is based on T.S. Eliot’s Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats, with a score by Andrew Lloyd Webber featuring songs including Old Deuteronomy, Macavity: The Mystery Cat, Jellicle Ball and the chart-topping hit Memory.

This production of CATS marks the third Andrew Lloyd Webber show produced by Regent’s Park in the last decade following their Olivier-Award winning revival of Jesus Christ Superstar in 2016, 2017 and 2020, and Jamie Lloyd’s production of Evita in 2019.
Another version of CATS – CATS The Jellicle Ball, opens in New York in April, playing Broadway’s Broadhurst Theatre.
Timothy Sheader’s production of Jesus Christ Superstar is coming to the London Palladium this summer 2026, starring Sam Ryder as Jesus.
Andrew Lloyd Webber’s other current London musicals include The Phantom of the Opera at His Majesty’s Theatre, and Starlight Express at the Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre, which announced earlier this month that it is set to close in London on 3 May.
