Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s global phenomenon Jesus Christ Superstar returns to London in 2019.

Following two overwhelming sell-out runs at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre, acclaimed rock musical Jesus Christ Superstar, will play a limited season at London’s Barbican Theatre from July 2019.

With a legendary score including I Don’t Know How to Love Him, Gethsemane and Superstar, and musical direction by Tom Deering and choreography by Drew McOnie, experience epic storytelling that has wowed audiences for over 40 years.

Jesus Christ Superstar is booking from 4 July 2019 until 24 August 2019 at the Barbican Theatre, London.


The cast features Robert Tripolino and Ricardo Afonso in the iconic roles of Jesus and Judas, with Sallay Garnett as Mary. Matt Cardle* plays the role of Pilate, with Cavin Cornwall and Nathan Amzi as Caiaphas and Annas.


Directed by Timothy Sheader, with design by Tom Scutt, choreography by Drew McOnie, musical direction Tom Deering, lighting design by Lee Curran and sound design by Nick Lidster for Autograph. Lyrics by Tim Rice and music by Andrew Lloyd Webber.
