The producers of smash-hit West End musical & Juliet have announced that Jay McGuiness will star as Shakespeare during the second leg of the tour from Bristol to Nottingham.
Jay McGuiness is a band member of The Wanted, a winner of Strictly Come Dancing, and has performed in numerous musicals and plays including Sleepless: A Musical Romance, White Christmas, and 2:22 – A Ghost Story.
Jay will play Shakespeare at Bristol, London Wimbledon, Aberdeen, Leicester, Dublin, Woking, Bradford, Milton Keynes, and Nottingham. See all dates and booking.
Ranj Singh will continue to play Lance at certain venues next year, including London Wimbledon, Dublin, Bradford, Birmingham, Sheffield and Cardiff.
Jay joins current tour cast members Gerardine Sacdalan as Juliet, Lara Denning as Anne, Sandra Marvin as Angelique, Jack Danson as Romeo, Kyle Cox as Francois and Jordan Broatch as May.

The UK and Ireland tour of & Juliet opened at Manchester Opera House on 8 July 2024. The show is currently in Leeds to 30 November 2024, and then starts again at the Bristol Hippodrome on 14 January 2025, going on to play London Wimbledon, Aberdeen, Leicester, Dublin, Woking, Bradford, Milton Keynes, Nottingham, Birmingham, Southend-on-Sea, Stoke-on-Trent, Sheffield, Newcastle, Truro, and Cardiff.
Created by David West Read, the Emmy-winning writer from Schitt’s Creek, this hilarious new musical flips the script on the greatest love story ever told and asks, what would happen next if Juliet didn’t end it all over Romeo?
Songs come courtesy of Max Martin, the songwriter of some of the biggest Number One hits of the century, and include Britney Spears’ “…Baby One More Time,” Katy Perry’s “Roar” and chart toppers “Since U Been Gone,” “It’s My Life,” “I Want It That Way,” and “Can’t Stop the Feeling!”.
The show has won three Olivier Awards and 6 WhatsOnStage Awards.
