Tony, BAFTA and Emmy Award winner James Corden (The History Boys, One Man, Two Guvnors, The Late Late Show) and BAFTA Award winner Anna Maxwell Martin (Motherland, Line of Duty) star in the world premiere of The Constituent, a new political drama by Joe Penhall (Blue/Orange, Sunny Afternoon), with direction by Matthew Warchus.

The Constituent  deconstructs politics, panic alarms and the conflict between public service and personal safety.

In this volatile new drama Anna Maxwell Martin plays a hard-working opposition backbencher MP whose ideals of public office are tested by the demands of a man in crisis, played James Corden.

The Constituent runs from 13 June 2024 to 10 August 2024 at The Old Vic theatre London.

‘I am not your punch bag! I am a Member of Parliament!’

An MP with an instinct for compassion.

An ex-serviceman with a life in free fall.

And a parliamentary protection officer who’s having none of it.

This volatile new play sees a hard-working opposition backbencher have her ideals of public office tested to the limits by the demands of a man in crisis.
