The Donmar Warehouse production of hit Broadway musical Next to Normal is heading to the West End.
The show will transfer to the Wyndham’s Theatre in London, playing from 18 June 2024 for a 14 week limited season.
Written by Tony, Emmy and Grammy Award-winning composer Tom Kitt and Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning writer Brian Yorkey, Next to Normal premiered on Broadway in 2010, and won three Tony Awards, including Best Original Score, and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama.
Next To Normal is an intimate exploration of family and illness, loss and grief, centred on Diana Goodman, a suburban wife and mother living with bipolar disorder and haunted by her past.
The West End transfer is once again directed by outgoing Donmar Artistic Director Michael Longhurst.
The show at the Donmar scored some great reviews, and starred Grammy Award nominee Caissie Levy as Diana, with Olivier Award winner and Tony Award nominee Jamie Parker as Dan, Hamilton star Trevor Dion Nicholas as Dr Madden/Dr Fine, Jack Ofrecio as Henry, Jack Wolfe as Gabe, and Olivier Award winner and BAFTA nominee Eleanor Worthington-Cox as Natalie.
The supporting cast include Joshua Gannon as cover Gabe/Henry, Carolyn Maitland as cover Diana, Ben Morris as cover Dan/Dr. Madden/Dr. Fine and Lucy Munden as cover Natalie.
Casting for the West End transfer is to be announced.

The outpouring of emotion from audiences at the Donmar was incredible: you could hear audible sobs before they surged to their feet every single night – like nothing I’ve experienced. Tickets were impossible to come by, so I am beyond thrilled that more people will now be able to experience the work of this extraordinary creative team.”
The creative team will also include Musical Supervisor Nigel Lilley; Designer Chloe Lamford; Movement, Choreography and Additional Direction Ann Yee; Lighting Designer Lee Curran; Sound Designer Tony Gayle; Video Designer Tal Rosner; Casting Director Anna Cooper CDG, Musical Director Nick Barstow and Production Manager Chris Hay.
Next To Normal is playing at the Wyndham’s Theatre from 18 June to 21 September 2024.
The show is produced by David Stone, James L. Nederlander and The Donmar Warehouse.
