Martin Shaw and Jenny Seagrove star in Simon Williams’ new play Alone Together.

Martin Shaw (Judge John Deed, 12 Angry Men), Jenny Seagrove (Judge John Deed, A Woman of Substance) and Josh Goulding (Hangmen) star in the world premiere of new play Alone Together by Simon Williams.

This witty, tender and thought-provoking play by actor/writer Simon Williams sees a married couple battle on the verge of their disastrous marriage, as three people look for pathways to excitement, fulfilment and freedom.

Beautifully capturing a world defined by grief and disconnection, where all things are possible in an anonymous digital life, Simon Williams deftly tackles despair, loss and betrayal in this compelling new drama.

Alone Together is directed by multi-award winning Sean Mathias (Frank and Percy).

“The grief that does not speak knits up the o-er wrought heart and bids it break”

Colin and Angela are caught in no-man’s land. Silence stretches between them. Jonty  is a young novelist searching for a deeper connection, a way to meet the lofty expectations of his demanding editor.

Driven by the loneliness of her dismal marriage, Angela finds comfort in an unexpected meeting, when she encounters Jonty on her usual bench after a weekly art class. Each with their own secrets to protect and pasts to lay to rest, a casual park-bench relationship leads to unintended consequences.

But was it really a chance encounter? Does anything worth having actually happen without design?
