Jagged Little Pill, the hit Broadway musical, will open in Australia this September marking the shows first international production.
The musical will premiere at the Theatre Royal Sydney which is currently undergoing an extensive multi-million dollar refurbishment by new owner Trafalagar Entertainment.
An electrifying new musical, Jagged Little Pill is inspired by Alanis Morissette’s seminal album of the same name and features beloved hits such as ‘You Oughta Know,’ ‘Head Over Feet,’ ‘Hand In My Pocket,’ and ‘Ironic’, as well as 2 brand new songs written just for the show. Nominated for 15 Tony Awards, the rock musical has an original story that centres on a seemingly perfect suburban family striving to ‘keep it all together’ when a troubling event shakes their community.
Sydney audiences will be the first outside of Broadway to experience the inspiring new musical that takes an emphatic look at what it means to be alive in the 21st century.
The show is brought to the stage by Tony Award winning director Diane Paulus (Waitress, Pippin), Oliver Award winning choreographer Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui and Tony and Pulitzer Prize winner Tom Kitt, who is responsible for musical supervision, orchestrations and arrangements.

Jagged Little Pill opened on Broadway in December 2019 following its record-breaking, sold-out world premiere at the American Repertory Theatre. It was forced to shut down the show due to covid-19 restrictions three months into the Broadway season.
Casting and full dates are to be revealed, with the piece set to play a nine-week season in Australia. A West End premiere is rumoured to take place in 2022.
