Disney release ‘Tangled’ cruise musical on YouTube

Disney has released its cruise line stage production of Tangled: The Musical on its YouTube channel.

Loosely based on the Brothers Grimm fairytale Rapunzel, the musical stage adaptation for Disney Cruises is an abridged version of the 2010 film which starred Mandy Moore (This Is Us), Zachary Levi (Chuck)and five-time Tony Award nominee Donna Murphy (The King And I).

The filmed version of the stage show features the original cast of the cruise production which premiered in 2015 and includes three new songs not featured in the film – “When She Returns”, “Flower of Gold”, and “Wanted Man” – penned by composer Alan Menken and lyricist Glenn Slater. The show also features the Oscar nominated song “I See The Light”.

Whilst often talked about, Disney have yet to present a full stage adaptation of the much loved animated film in theatres.
