Peter Pan Live

All-star Peter Pan Live musical with Christopher Walken to be streamed for free

YouTube series The Show Must Go On will stream Peter Pan Live this Friday 19 June for 48hrs only.

The NBC Universal 2014 televised version of the 1954 Broadway musical stars Christopher Walken (Sleepy Hollow, The Deer Hunter, Hairspray) as Captain Hook, Allison Williams (Girls, Get Out) as Peter Pan, Kelli O’Hara (The King & I) as Mrs Darling, Christian Borle (Something Rotten, Legally Blonde, Smash) as Mr Smee and Taylor Louderman (Mean Girls) as Wendy, with Minnie Driver (Speechless, Good Will Hunting) acting as Narrator.

The show was originally scheduled to run on 5 June 2020 however the broadcast was postponed out of respect for the Black Lives Matter protests.

Peter Pan Live will be available across the globe except, for rights reasons, Asia and Latin America.

The piece has music by Moose Charlap and Jule Styne, with lyrics by Carolyn Leigh, Betty Comden and Adolph Green. The 2014 production added new numbers and restored a song that had been cut from the show before its Broadway premiere.

The Show Must Go On free-to air series of musicals and concerts was initiated in response to the closure of theatres and has so far shown pieces from Andrew Lloyd Webber’s archive including CATS, Joseph, Jesus Christ Superstar; and is currently collaborating with American studio NBC Universal where they have streamed The Sound of Music Live and Hairspray Live.

A new show is revealed at 8am every Monday morning, with the show then being streamed for free for 48hrs from 7pm BST Friday of that week.
