The company behind the wildly popular The Show Must Go On series has confirmed it will continue to stream productions for the foreseeable future. The YouTube series has seen millions of fans check in to watch musicals and concerts from Andrew Lloyd Webber including CATS, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Love Never Dies and The Phantom of the Opera.
In a statement the company has said: “Universal has confirmed that, following the success of the Andrew Lloyd Webber shows, beloved musical productions will continue to be released weekly for free and made available for 48 hours on The Shows Must Go On YouTube Channel.
“Over the last 6 weeks, millions of musical theatre fans around the globe have tuned in and donated hundreds of thousands of pounds to charity, whilst watching and singing-a-long at home.”
The Show Must Go On will announce new content on Monday mornings to be streamed on the following Friday at 7pm BST.
The next musical will be The Sound of Music Live!, starring Carrie Underwood, Audra McDonald and Stephen Moyer.
