The Olivier and Tony Award nominated musical sees its first major London revival in 30 years, directed by Susie McKenna with Olivier Award winner Sharon D Clarke and Clive Rowe.

Featuring 26 hot and soul-filled songs by blues and jazz icons Bessie Smith, Duke Ellington and many more, this will be a sizzling night to remember.

Blues In The Night ran from 19 August 2019 until 7 September 2019 at the Kiln Theatre, London.

WHAT’S THE STORY?

A man is a two-face, a worrisome thing who’ll leave you to sing, the blues in the night.

Set in a rundown Chicago hotel in 1938, listen to the stories of three women’s relationships with the same snake of a man, their interweaving stories told through the torch songs and blues of Bessie Smith, Johnny Mercer, Harold Arlen, Vernon Duke, Gordon Jenkins, and Alberta Hunter, among others.

The cast features Olivier Award winner Sharon D Clarke (Caroline or Change, Ghost, Amen Corner), Debbie Kurup (Sweet Charity, Girl From the North Country) Olivier Award-winner Clive Rowe (Guys and Dolls, Carousel) and Gemma Sutton (Follies, The Rink).
