The Lehman Trilogy returns to London’s Gillian Lynne Theatre, directed by the acclaimed Sam Mendes (Skyfall, King Lear). This Olivier and Tony Award-winning production, hailed by The New York Times as ‘a genuinely epic production’, tells the compelling story of a family and a company that changed the world.

Following a smash-hit run on Broadway, where it won five Tony Awards including Best New Play and Best Director for Sam Mendes, the original sold-out National Theatre production is back for a limited West End season playing at the Gillian Lynne Theatre.

The Lehman Trilogy stars John Heffernan, Aaron Krohn, and Howard W. Overshown. These talented actors reprise their multiple roles as the Lehman brothers, their sons, and their grandsons, delivering an extraordinary feat of storytelling in three parts on a single evening.

The Lehman Trilogy is playing at the Gillian Lynne Theatre London from 24 September 2024 to 4 January 2025.

On a cold September morning in 1844 a young man from Bavaria stands on a New York dockside. Dreaming of a new life in the new world. He is joined by his two brothers and an American epic begins.

163 years later, the firm they establish – Lehman Brothers – spectacularly collapses into bankruptcy, and triggers the largest financial crisis in history.
