Denise Van Outen will join the West End cast of Chicago later this month at the Phoenix Theatre.
The Big Breakfast star will play the role of Velma Kelly from 24 September through to 17 November 2018, alongside Alexandra Burke as Roxie Hart, Duncan James as Billy Flynn, Mazz Murray as Mama Morton and Paul Rider as Amos Hart.
Van Outen returns to the much-loved musical having previously played the role of Roxie Hart to critical acclaim in both the West End and on Broadway. Her initial West End run proved such a hit with theatre-goers in 2001, it sold out for the entire 20 weeks.
Her other West End credits include Tell Me on a Sunday, Legally Blonde, Rent and her one woman show Some Girl I Used to Know.
Denise is currently a judge on the upcoming tv series Ireland’s Got Talent, having previously been a judge on BBC1’s and I’d Do Anything.
