The Royal Shakespeare Company returns to the Barbican with a contemporary London Season of three of Shakespeare’s most loved plays: Macbeth, Romeo and Juliet and The Merry Wives of Windsor

Christopher Eccleston stars in the title role of Shakespeare’s darkest psychological thriller, opposite Niamh Cusack as Lady Macbeth and with Edward Bennett as Macduff.

Macbeth is booking from 15 October 2018 until 18 January 2019 at the Barbican Theatre, London.

“SOMETHING WICKED THIS WAY COMES…”

Returning home from battle, the victorious Macbeth meets three witches on the heath.

Driven by their disturbing prophecies, he sets out on the path to murder.

WHO’S IN IT? MACBETH CAST

The cast features Christopher Eccleston Thor 2, BBC series Doctor Who, Antigone, Bent(National Theatre); Niamh Cusack His Dark Materials (National Theatre); and, Edward Bennett Sky Fall, One Man Two Guvnors (NT tour) as Macduff.

CREATIVE TEAM

Directed by Polly Findlay, with set and costume design by Fly Davis, lighting desing by Lizzie Powell, music by Rupert Cross, soudn design by Christopher Shutt, movement by Aline David, fight direction by Kate Waters and illusions by Chris Fisher.
