Finding Neverland, the pop-infused Broadway musical that explores the life of J.M. Barrie and the origin of how he came to write Peter Pan, will open in London next spring.
No announcement on casting or a theatre for the show were made, but producers said details would be revealed next month.
Today’s news coincided with the announcement the Broadway production will close in August by which time it will have played 565 performances at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre and grossed over $54 million dollars since opening spring 2015. The original cast included Kelsey Grammer and Matthew Morrison. Alfie Boe and Laura Michelle Kelly currently feature in the Broadway production.
Directed by Diane Paulus, the book is written by James Graham with music co-written by Gary Barlow and Eliot Kennedy.
The musical is produced by Harvey Weinstein, who revealed a film version of the show was also being developed.
