Full casting has been announced for Jamie Lloyd’s production of The Seagull starring Game of Thrones’ Emilia Clarke.
Former EastEnders and New Tricks actress Tamzin Outhwaite will play Polina, alongside Hustle and Spooks actor Robert Glenister as Sorin and Game of Thrones’ Indira Varma as Arkadina.
The cast also features Danny Ashok (Medvedenko), Tom Rhys Harries (Trigorin), Daniel Monks (Konstantin), Patrick Robinson (Dorn), Seun Shote (Shamrayev) and Sophie Wu (Masha).
Set in an isolated house, Anton Chekhov’s 19th century classic follows an eclectic group of people whose romantic and artistic ideals clash. Anya Reiss’ new adaptation will place the action in modern day.
Jamie Lloyd directs with design by his long-term collaborator Soutra Gilmour.
The Seagull follows Lloyds success with Betrayal starring Tom Hiddleston and Cyrano de Bergerac with James McAvoy. The final production in Lloyd’s 2020 season of plays at the Playhouse will be A Doll’s House starring Jessica Chastain.
The Seagull runs from 11 March 2020 until 30 May 2020 at the Playhouse Theatre, London.
The Seagull tickets are now available.
