The wait is over for UK fans of the “Ghost with the Most”! Initial casting has been confirmed for the highly anticipated West End premiere of Beetlejuice The Musical, which opens at the Prince Edward Theatre this May 2026.
Olivier Award nominee David Fynn (School of Rock, Amelíe) will lead the company in the iconic title role of Beetlejuice. The production is set to run for a limited season from 20 May 2026, with tickets currently booking through to 17 April 2027.
Further casting for the roles of Lydia Deetz and the Maitlands is expected to be announced shortly.

More about Beetlejuice
Based on Tim Burton’s much-loved 1988 film starring Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder, Beetlejuice has a book by Scott Brown and Emmy Award nominee Anthony King (Broad City), music and lyrics by Eddie Perfect, and musical direction, orchestrations and incidental music by Kris Kukul.
Directed by two-time Tony Award-winner Alex Timbers (Moulin Rouge! The Musical, Just in Time), the musical follows gothic teen Lydia Deetz, a recently deceased couple, and a flamboyant demon who’s more than fond of black‑and‑white stripes.
Beetlejuice The Musical premiered on Broadway in April 2019 at the Winter Garden Theatre, and recently returned to New York for a limited 13-week season.
School of Rock & Beetlejuice!
It is becoming a notable showbiz trend for leading men to trade the classroom for the graveyard, as David Fynn follows in the footsteps of Broadway’s Alex Brightman and Justin Collette by originating both the role of Dewey Finn in School of Rock and the title character in Beetlejuice.
