Olivier Award-winning West End musical Operation Mincemeat has announced its longest ever London extension.
Extending for an 18th time at the West End’s Fortune Theatre, Operation Mincemeat has added a whole year of new dates, and is now booking to 20 February 2027.
What we think: There’s simply no stopping this juggernaut of a musical. It’s rare for a West End show to go on sale with dates for a full year ahead. But with fans like Operation Mincemeat’s, and its ever-expanding global profile (Broadway, current UK tour, forthcoming tours in the US, Australia, Canada, China, Mexico and New Zealand), there’s no stopping this home-grown show.
Operation Mincemeat is directed by Olivier Award-nominated Robert Hastie (Standing at the Sky’s Edge), following his directorial support for the Riverside Studios run, with Olivier Award-nominated Jenny Arnold (Jerry Springer: The Opera) as Choreographer.
Operation Mincemeat is running simultaneously in London and New York, and is also starting a 40-week UK tour from tonight, 16 February 2026.

More about the show
- Operation Mincemeat started its life at the Off-West End New Diorama Theatre in 2019, and then played the Southwark Playhouse and Riverside Studios before opening at the West End’s Fortune Theatre on 9 May 2023.
- The show has subsequently won Olivier and WhatsOnstage Awards for Best New Musical.
- In Operation Mincemeat, it’s 1943, and the Allied Forces are on the ropes. Luckily, they’ve got a trick up their sleeve. Well, not up their sleeve, per se, but rather inside the pocket of a stolen corpse. Equal parts farce, thriller, and Ian Fleming-style spy caper (with an assist from Mr. Fleming himself), Operation Mincemeat tells the wildly improbable and hilarious true story of the covert operation that turned the tide of WWII.
