It’s 1943, and the Allies are facing crushing odds. The fate of the war hangs in the balance, and they’re about to place their biggest bet on an unlikely secret weapon – a dead body.
Operation Mincemeat is the astonishing true story of one of the most audacious wartime deceptions ever conceived by MI5. In a desperate bid to divert German forces away from a planned Allied invasion of Sicily, British intelligence concocts an outrageous scheme involving a tramp’s corpse, a fabricated identity, and a set of forged “top secret” documents. Disguised as a fallen Royal Marine and strategically released off the coast of Spain, the body is meant to deceive the Nazis – but that’s only the beginning of this bizarre, twist-filled caper.
