Damian Lewis and John Goodman in David Mamet’s American Buffalo at the Wyndham’s Theatre directed by Daniel Evans.

David Mamet’s fierce and blistering classic American Buffalo comes to the West End this Spring.

Playing a strictly limited season at the Wyndham’s Theatre from 16 April to 27 June 2015, American Buffalo stars acclaimed British actor Damian Lewis (Homeland, Wolf Hall) as Teach,  John Goodman (Argo, The Bid Lebowski, Roseanne) as Don and Tom Sturridge (Orphans, Being Julia) as Bobby.

Directed by Olivier Award winning actor and director Daniel Evans, American Buffalo promises to be an extraordinary theatrical event and the must-see production of 2015.

Teach (Damian Lewis) is part of a trio of small-time hustlers who attempt to pull off the robbery of a local coin collector and his prized American Buffalo – the name of a rare nickel coin. The scam never happens as misinformation and ineptitude plague the three men in a night of macho power play between Teach, the older guy Don (John Goodman) and his young protege Bobby (Tom Sturridge), all set in Don’s junk shop.

Damian Lewis is an award-winning British actor. His theatre credits include Laertes opposite Ralph Fiennes in Hamlet and The Misanthrope opposite Keira Knightley. Film work includes Patrick Conner in Robinson Crusoe and Keane. John Goodman is an award-winning American actor. His theatre credits include Pozzo in Waiting for Godot (Studio 54, New York), in which he starred alongside Nathan Lane and Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui (The Public Theatre, New York). Film work: inumerable film work includes Ben Affleck’s Academy Award winning film Argo, the multi-award winning The Artist, Inside Llewyn Davis, Monuments Men and Big Lebowski. TV work includes The West Wing, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, Damages, Dancing on the Edge and Roseanne
