Only Murders in the Building star Richard Kind is making a guest appearance in the West End production of The Producers.

Star of stage and screen, including as a series regular in Mad About You, Spin City and Only Murders in the Building, Richard Kind is playing Max Bialystock in the hit musical comedy, for seven weeks only from 23 March to 9 May 2026.

Andy Nyman (Ghost Stories, Hello, Dolly!) who is currently starring as Max Bialystock, is stepping away to open The Psychic starring Frances Barber at York Theatre Royal. He is back in the show from 11 May.

Richard Kind will join a cast that also includes Marc Antolin (The Band’s Visit, I Wish You Well, Quiz) as Leo Bloom, Joanna Woodward (The Time Traveller’s Wife, Pretty Woman) as Ulla, Trevor Ashley (Les Misérables, Hairspray, Priscilla Queen of the Desert) as Roger de Bris, Harry Morrison (Beetlejuice, Come From Away) as Franz Liebkind, and Raj Ghatak (The Father and the Assassin, Life of Pi) as Carmen Ghia.

Based on Mel Brooks’ much-loved movie, The Producers has a book by Mel Brooks and Thomas Meehan, and music and lyrics by Mel Brooks.
