Hollywood stars Helen Hunt, Kenneth Branagh and Bill Pullman star in The Cherry Orchard at the Swan Theatre, Stratford-upon-Avon, in a bold new version by award-winning writer Laura Wade.
Running from 10 July to 29 August 2026, this gripping new production of Anton Chekhov’s final masterpiece is directed by RSC Co-Artistic Director Tamara Harvey.
About The Cherry Orchard
Anton Chekhov’s timeless story of a family on the brink of change is reimagined by Laura Wade in a production that balances comedy and tragedy. Madame Ranyevskaya, played by Academy Award-winner Helen Hunt, returns from Paris to face her crumbling estate and the possible loss of her beloved cherry orchard. Opposite her, Kenneth Branagh plays Lopakhin, the ambitious son of a serf who now seeks to buy the land.
As the estate slips further into debt, the household spirals into crisis while revolution brews outside its walls. With Chekhov’s enduring themes of memory, change, and social upheaval, Wade’s version offers a sharp and vital take on one of the greatest plays ever written.
Don’t miss the chance to experience Helen Hunt, Kenneth Branagh and Bill Pullman together on stage in this compelling new production.
