All aboard for Maiden Voyage – the exhilarating world première of a brand new British musical, starring Chelsea Halfpenny (Waitress, 9 to 5: The Musical, Emmerdale), playing for a strictly limited run this summer at Southwark Playhouse.

Inspired by the incredible true story of Tracy Edwards and the first all-female crew to race around the world, Maiden Voyage is a bold, feel-good celebration of determination, teamwork and defying the odds.

With book and lyrics by Mindi Dickstein (Little Women) and music by Carmel Dean (Well Behaved Women, Renascence), the show brings to life the trials, triumphs, and tenacity of these pioneering women.

About the Show

It’s 1990, and Tracy Edwards is about to do the unthinkable—lead the first all-female crew in a round-the-world yacht race. But how did a 20-something dropout with no formal training end up navigating one of the toughest sailing challenges on Earth?

From a chance encounter with King Hussein of Jordan to deep-seated personal motivations, Maiden Voyage explores what drives someone to defy convention and change the course of history.

This sweeping, new musical offers a thrilling theatrical journey across oceans and continents, filled with courage, camaraderie, and the sheer power of belief.
