The new production of Irving Berlin’s much-loved musical Top Hat has added new dates to its 2025 and 2026 UK tour.
The show starts performances tonight, 14 July 2025, at Chichester Festival Theatre, where it plays throughout the summer until 6 September 2025.
The production then tours the UK, including Woking, Milton Keynes, Edinburgh, Nottingham, London, Canterbury, Liverpool, Cardiff, Sunderland, and Manchester.
New dates now confirmed for 2026 include Sheffield, Glasgow, Eastbourne, Southend-on-Sea, and Birmingham, with further dates to be added. See all tour dates and venues.
Top Hat is directed and choreographed by three-time Tony Award-winning director and choreographer Kathleen Marshall (Anything Goes), and her fabulous cast includes Phillip Attmore (Hello, Dolly) as Jerry Travers, with Lucy St. Louis (Wicked) as Dale Tremont, Clive Carter (Moulin Rouge! The Musical) as Horace, and Sally Ann Triplett (Cabaret) as Madge.
The cast also includes James Clyde as Bates and Alex Gibson-Giorgio as Beddini, plus Lindsay Atherton, Rhiannon Bacchus, Jeremy Batt, Freddie Clements, Pedro Donoso, Bethan Downing, Autumn Draper, Tilly Ducker, Laura Hills, Connor Hughes, James Hume, George Lyons, David McIntosh, Jordan Oliver, Emily Ann Potter, Molly Rees Howe, Kirsty Sparks and Toyan Thomas-Browne.
This production of Top Hat promises dazzling choreography, lavish sets, and Irving Berlin’s timeless score, featuring classics such as Cheek to Cheek, Let’s Face the Music and Dance, and Puttin’ on the Ritz.

Marshall leads a creative team that includes set designer Peter McKintosh, costume designers Peter McKintosh and Yvonne Milnes, musical supervisor Gareth Valentine, musical director Stephen Ridley, orchestrator & arranger Chris Walker, lighting designer Tim Mitchell, sound designer Paul Groothuis, casting director Natalie Gallacher CDG for Pippa Ailion and Natalie Gallacher Casting, associate director Carol Lee Meadows and assistant director & choreographer Richard Pitt.
Based on the iconic 1935 film starring Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, Top Hat was adapted for the stage by Matthew White and Howard Jacques. The show’s 2013 West End run won the Olivier Award for Best New Musical and the Evening Standard Award for Best Night Out.
Top Hat is running at Chichester Festival Theatre from 14 July to 6 September 2025, and will then tour.
