West End star Zoe Birkett is leaving hit musical Tina – The Tina Turner Musical.

Zoe Birkett (The Witches, The Bodyguard, Moulin Rouge!) joined the cast of the Tina Turner tribute musical on 25 June 2024, and will have performed a year in the show, leaving on 21 June 2025.

The long-runner recently celebrated its 7th birthday in London, and is now booking at the Aldwych Theatre in London to 10 January 2026.

Karis Anderson also stars as Tina Turner in the show, which is set to the pulse-pounding soundtrack of Tina Turner’s hits, including River Deep, Mountain High, We Don’t Need Another Hero (Thunderdome) Proud Mary, The Best and What’s Love Got To Do With It, the show charts the rise of the Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll.

From 24 June 2025, pop singer, The X Factor runner-up and TV presenter Fleur East will join the show playing Tina, sharing the role with Karis. Further casting is to be announced.

Tina – The Tina Turner Musical first premiered at the Aldwych Theatre in London in April 2018, and has gone on to pack in audiences night after night. Last October, the show welcomed its 2 millionth visitor.

Zoe Birkett said in a statement on social media that, “This 12 month contract has flown over and what a year it has been… creativity I’ve never stayed in a show longer than 12 months, always leave on a high when I’m never bored with the role or under stimulated. It’s always my choice to go, and I’m thankful for the love from creatives, producers and fans for the support they have shown me and wanting me to stay.”

Tina – The Tina Turner Musical currently stars Karis Anderson and Zoe Birkett as Tina Turner, and Rolan Bell as Ike Turner, with Mark Anderson as Phil Spector/Terry Britten, Jonathan Carlton as Erwin Bach, Grace Wylde as Alline Bullock, Irene Myrtle Forrester as Tina’s Grandmother, Daniel Haswell as Richard Bullock, Harry Harrington as Roger Davies, Emma Hatton as Rhonda Graam, Maddison Tyson as Raymond Hill and Carole Stennett as Zelma.

Charlotte St.Croix is Standby Tina Turner, and the ensemble members are Sarah Freer as Lorraine, Lloyd Gorman as Carpenter, Angelis Hunt as Ronnie, Joey James as Craig, Ria Turner as Toni, the Ikettes are played by Morgan Broome, Equiana Givans and Ohaana Greaves and swings are Jenna Bonner, Tré Copeland-Williams, Abiola Efunshile, Jordan Louis-Fernand, Marisha Morgan, Dan O’Brien, Curtis Scott, Ellie Seaton, Kirsty Anne Shaw and Samuel J Weir. Children’s casting includes Azaelea Harris, Ezmai Robinson and Elsa-Grace Waigo as Young Anna Mae Bullock and Kennedy-May McLeary, Amira Skerritt and Alaya Scotland Thomas as Young Alline Bullock and Young Craig.

Directed by Phyllida Lloyd and written by Pulitzer Prize-winner Katori Hall with Frank Ketelaar and Kees Prins, TINA – The Tina Turner Musical is choreographed by Anthony van Laast, with set and costume designs by Mark Thompson, musical supervision by Nicholas Skilbeck, lighting by Bruno Poet, sound by Nevin Steinberg, projection design by Jeff Sugg, orchestrations by Ethan Popp, wigs, hair and makeup design by Campbell Young Associates, casting by Pippa Ailion CDG and Natalie Gallacher CDG and fight direction by Kate Waters.

Tina – The Tina Turner Musical is now playing at the Aldwych Theatre, booking until 10 January 2026.
