West End and Broadway stars Billy Porter and Beverley Knight are releasing their new single, Never Say Never, today.
News of their duet comes on the eve of Porter and Knight hosting this year’s 2025 Olivier Awards at the Royal Albert Hall in London this Sunday, 6 April 2025.
Their new single, Never Say Never, is released today, 3 April 2025, at 4pm. The premiere is on Trevor Nelson’s BBC Radio 2 show this afternoon, and you can then listen here.
Emmy, Tony and Grammy award winner Billy Porter (Pose) is currently playing The Emcee in the acclaimed show at the Kit Kat Club in London, alongside double Olivier Award-nominee Marisha Wallace (Guys & Dolls, Dreamgirls) as Sally Bowles.
Olivier Award-winner Beverley Knight (Sylvia, Sister Act, The Drifters Girl, The Bodyguard) is starring in new show Marie & Rosetta at the Rose Theatre in Kingston and Chichester Festival Theatre this spring.
News of the duet was first announced last month on The Scott Mills Breakfast Show on BBC Radio 2. Billy revealed to Scott Mills that, “I have a single dropping in the next few weeks. It’s a duet with Beverley Knight”.
Marisha Wallace also announced live on the show that her acclaimed solo concert at the Adelphi Theatre on 11 March 2025 will be released as a live album. You can listen to Scott Mills’ interview with Billy and Marisha on BBC iPlayer (from 1:39).
Billy and Marisha are starring in Cabaret until 24 May 2025.
In other Billy Porter news, Porter is directing a revival of This Bitter Earth at Soho Theatre this summer (18 June to 26 July 2025), starring Omari Douglas and Alexander Lincoln.
Cabaret announced last month that it is extending its run again at the Kit Kat Club in London, and is now booking to 28 March 2026.
