The Menier Chocolate Factory’s acclaimed revival of The Producers is to transfer to the Garrick Theatre in London’s West End.
The production, directed by Tony award-winner Patrick Marber (Leopoldstadt), will begin performances on 30 August 2025, and is scheduled to run until 21 February 2026.
Originally staged at the Menier Chocolate Factory from November 2024, the production concluded its sold-out run on 1 March 2025 after drawing praise from critics, including The Guardian, which called it “irresistible, absurd, and joyful”, and The Independent praising its “wickedly funny” take on the classic musical. The show follows the hapless Broadway producer Max Bialystock and his shy accountant Leo Bloom as they conspire to stage a guaranteed flop—only for events to spiral hilariously out of control.
Andy Nyman (Hello, Dolly!, Hangmen, Ghost Stories) and Marc Antolin (The Band’s Visit, I Wish You Well, Quiz) will reprise their roles as Bialystock and Bloom in the West End transfer, alongside Joanna Woodward (The Time Traveller’s Wife, Pretty Woman) as Ulla, with Trevor Ashley (Les Misérables, Hairspray, Priscilla Queen of the Desert) as Roger de Bris, Harry Morrison (Beetlejuice, Come From Away) as Franz Liebkind, and Raj Ghatak (The Father and the Assassin, Life of Pi) as Carmen Ghia.
Further casting for the West End transfer will be announced in due course.
Writer of the show, legendary Hollywood actor and writer Mel Brooks, said in a statement: “Hello Brits! My record-breaking musical, The Producers, is coming back to the West End! I couldn’t be more proud of this show. I can’t wait to sit in the Garrick Theatre and be bathed in laughter.”
Producer Nica Burns said: “Whatever tickles your funny bone, you’ll find The Producers a total hoot. Don’t walk — run to the box office!”
Artistic Director of the Menier Chocolate Factory, David Babani, said: “I am enormously proud of the entire team working across The Producers. To have the opportunity to do it all again, and grow the production, is an absolute privilege.”
The revival arrives at the Garrick after the close of Mrs Warren’s Profession, starring Dame Imelda Staunton and Bessie Carter, which completes its run on 16 August 2025. Until 26 April the Garrick Theatre is home to Unicorn starring Nicola Walker, Stephen Mangan & Erin Doherty.
The Producers marks the musical’s first major London staging in two decades, having originally played the Theatre Royal Drury Lane in 2004 with Nathan Lane and Lee Evans in the central roles.
The Producers runs from 30 August 2025 to 21 February 2026 at the Garrick Theatre, London.
