Winners of the 82nd annual Golden Globe Awards have been announced.

The winners of the Golden Globes were revealed during a live telecast in the US on 5 January 2025, hosted by comedian Nikki Glaser.

Wicked, part one of Jon M Chu’s new movie version of the hit stage musical Wicked, picked up the award for Cinematic and Box Office Achievement. The movie, which was released in November 2024, recently overtook the movie version of West End hit Mamma Mia! to become the biggest worldwide stage musical movie adaptation of all time.

Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande missed out on the best actress and supporting awards, and the movie didn’t win best motion picture – musical or comedy.

The Brutalist featuring recent West End star Adrien Brody (The Fear of 13) took home many of the biggest awards of the night, including best drama, best actor in a drama for Adrien Brody, and best director for Brady Corbet.

Emilia Pérez, which was nominated for 10 awards, took home four, including best non-English language picture and musical or comedy, best supporting actress for Zoe Saldaña and best original song for El Mal.

In the TV categories, Shogun scored four awards, with Hacks picking up two awards.

Also taking home two awards was Baby Reindeer, based on the Edinburgh Fringe hit play, which won best limited series, and best performance by an actress in a television supporting role for Jessica Gunning.

Other award winners included Fernanda Torres, Demi Moore, Kieran Culkin, Jodie Foster, and Colin Farrell.

Golden Globes nominations were announced on 9 December 2024.
