JERSEY BOYS: Michael Watson joins cast; show extends at Piccaddily Theatre

Hit West End and Broadway musical Jersey Boys is extending its run at the Piccadilly Theatre in London.

The show is now booking until 15 February 2015.

Jersey Boys also sees a new star join the cast tonight, 29 April 2014, as Michael Watson takes on the lead role of Frankie Valli in the show.

British actor Michael Watson has previously appeared in West End shows including We Will Rock You, Imagine This, Sister Act and Shrek the Musical.

Michael joins a cast that includes Edd Post as Bob Gaudio, Jon Boydon as Tommy DeVito and Matt Nalton as Nick Massi. Sandy Moffat plays the role of Frankie Valli at certain performances.

Jersey Boys opened in the West End in 2008 and moved from the Prince Edward Theatre to its current home at the Piccadilly Theatre on 15 March 2014.

Now in its 7th year in London the show has been seen by over 19 million people worldwide.

A major new movie version of Jersey Boys is set for release in June this year, directed by Clint Eastwood.

  1. We saw it yesterday, it was brilliant. Michaels voice was incredible, and his acting was great. Saw this show in 2009 with different singers, they were great too. Although l think Micheal and the rest of this group have the edge. Great show – again!

  2. Saw the show last night! Absolutely loved every moment. MICHAEL WATSON is talented in his acting and his voice is incredible. This guy put his whole self into the part and the audience loved him. MICHAEL WATSON your a star! Don’t let anyone say your not, their just idiots

  3. Saw the show last weekI thought Michael Watson was great. I haven’t see the other Frankies but have looked them up on Youtube and they don’t seem to be any better than Michael Watson. Give the guy a break! Great show.

  4. I totally disagree. Saw Michael this week and he was FAB, gave a great show and was as good as anyone i have seen in this role

  5. Michael was brought in last year as a swing to take over the role this year. Not one of the best actors I’m afraid! Vocals not up to the standard this show has been use to! Seem him a few times in this role so can see he was picked for his look rather than talent
