Britain’s National Theatre has announced new shows for its subscription streamer National Theatre at Home.

The productions mix recent National Theatre shows with a number of plays from other London venues.

The winter season starts with the streaming of Simon Godwin’s recent production of Macbeth starring Ralph Fiennes (Conclave, Harry Potter) and Indira Varma (Game of Thrones, Oedipus).

Filmed at Dock X in London, Macbeth will play on 31 October 2024.

Then, in November, At Home audiences will be able to stream for free, the National’s recently acclaimed production of Nye, starring Michael Sheen (Good Omens) as Aneurin ‘Nye’ Bevan, who founded the National Health Service.

The free streaming is part of its ‘Take Your Seats’ initiative, and Nye will play from 7pm GMT on 7 November, to 11 November.

In December, The Old Vic’s multi-award winning revival of Noel Coward’s Present Laughter FINALLY gets an At Home screening.

The production stars Andrew Scott (Vanya, All of Us Strangers, Fleabag) in his Oliver Award-winning performance as Gary Essendine, alongside Indira Varma and Sophie Thompson.

One of National Theatre Live’s most successful ever cinema screenings, the show returned for multiple showings in UK and international theatres, and recently came back to cinemas after its previous run was cancelled due to Covid.

Directed by Matthew Warchus (Matilda The Musical), and filmed at The Old Vic in 2019, Present Laughter will be available from 6 December 2025.

Also coming to National Theatre at Home on 6 December is Frank Galati’s Tony Award-winning adaptation of John Steinbeck’s The Grapes of Wrath, directed by Carrie Cracknell (Julie, The Deep Blue Sea), starring Tony Award-winner Cherry Jones (The Glass Menagerie, Succession) as matriarch Ma Joad, Harry Treadaway (The Chemistry of Death, Penny Dreadful) as her son Tom Joad and Natey Jones (Small Island, Pretty Red Dress) as Jim Casy.

More shows joining the streamer include Katori Hall’s (Tina – The Tina Turner Musical, The Mountaintop, P-Valley) Pulitzer Prize-winning The Hot Wing King, recently playing the Dorfman theatre, directed by Roy Alexander Weise.
