West End star Jon Robyns (The Phantom of the Opera) is joining the cast of Figaro: An Original Musical, which will get its world premiere in two fully staged concert performances at the London Palladium on 3 and 4 February 2025.
Jon Robyns will play the title role of Figaro in the show, joined by previously announced stars Aimie Atkinson (Six, Pretty Woman) as Lucia, and Broadway’s Cayleigh Capaldi (Titanique, Frozen) as Sienna.
Cayleigh Capaldi led the cast recording of Figaro and will make her West End debut in the show.
Other cast include Coronation Street’s Daniel Brocklebank as Antonio, Ava Brennan (Hamilton, Les Miserables, Lion King) as Gia, Cian Service-Eagle (Oliver, Les Miserables, The Witches) as Gianni, Sophia Goodman (Matilda the Musical, Les Miserables) as Amelia, and Maggie Solimine in the roles of Ensemble/Standby.
Set in 19th Century Italy, the musical follows Sienna, a young farm girl whose dreams of singing take her on a journey of romance, self-discovery and unexpected sacrifice.
Figaro: An Original Musical is directed by Will Nunziata. The creative team includes musical director Caitlin Morgan (Six: The Musical, Burlesque), costume designer Sophia Pardon (The Wizard of Oz, Once), set designer Justin Williams (Your Lie In April, Death Note), lighting designer Alex Musgrave (The White Factory, You Are Here), and casting director Harry Blumenau.
The musical is conceived and has a book by Ashley Jana and Will Nunziata, and music and lyrics by Ashley Jana.
Figaro is produced by Michael Lamon (Merrily We Roll Along, SMASH), 23 Productions LLC, Van Dean, Andrew Byrnes and Witzend Productions. General Managers are Carter Dixon McGill Productions.
