Festive musical comedy Elf The Musical is returning to London this Christmas 2025, playing the West End’s Aldwych Theatre.
This much-loved festive show is back in London following a number of sold-out seasons at the Dominion Theatre.
Elf The Musical will play the Aldwych Theatre in London for a strictly limited 10 week season from 28 October 2025 to 3 January 2026.
The show is based on the much-loved movie starring Will Ferrell, which celebrated its 21st anniversary last year.
Elf originally made its West End premiere way back in 2015, and this production first premiered at the Dominion Theatre in 2022.
The show has a book by Tony Award-winners Thomas Meehan (Annie, The Producers, Hairspray) and Bob Martin (The Drowsy Chaperone), with songs by Matthew Sklar and Chad Beguelin (The Wedding Singer).
Elf will once again be directed by Philip Wm. McKinley, with choreography by Liam Steel, original set and costume design by Tim Goodchild, lighting design by Patrick Woodroffe, sound by Gareth Owen and video design by Ian William Galloway. Casting is by Grindrod Burton Casting.

Elf is the hilarious tale of Buddy, a young orphan child who mistakenly crawls into Santa’s bag of gifts and is transported back to the North Pole. Raised as an elf and never quite fitting in, when Santa tells him the truth, Buddy heads to New York to find his birth father, and discovers the gifts of family and love.
This West End version of the show is not to be confused with Elf The Musical Arena Spectacular which is touring the UK this Christmas.
Currently playing at the Aldwych Theatre is Tina – The Tina Turner Musical, which closes on 13 September 2025 after 7 years in the West End.
Both the Dominion Theatre, where Elf previously played, and the Aldwych Theatre, are owned by Broadway theatre group The Nederlander Organization. Elf played on Broadway last Christmas in Nederlander’s Marquis Theatre in New York.
