Smash-hit, multi award-winning play Red Pitch by Tyrell Williams is now playing in the West End.

The show has transferred from the sell-out runs in Edinburgh and at the Bush Theatre, and is now playing at @sohoplace theatre in London until 4 May 2024.

This fast-paced and sharp-edged play tells a powerful story of gentrification versus regeneration and the impact of this relentless change on London’s communities.

The acclaimed cast includes Kedar Williams-Stirling (Sex Education), Emeka Sesay (The Power) and Francis Lovehall (A Thousand Blows), playing the three football-obsessed teens.

The West End transfer comes after a series of acclaimed, sell-out runs in Edinburgh and at the Bush Theatre in West London. The drama scored some impressive reviews from London theatre critics, including five stars from the Financial Times, when it ran at the Bush.

Directed by Daniel Bailey, the creative team also includes Set and Costume Designer Amelia Jane Hankin, Lighting Designer Ali Hunter, Sound Designer Khalil Madovi, Movement Director Dickson Mbi, Associate Designer Georgia Wilmot, Associate Movement Director Ricardo Da Silva, Dramaturg Deirdre O’Halloran, Casting Director Heather Basten CDG, Voice Coach Gurkiran Kaur, Fight Director Kev McCurdy, and Football Consultant Aaron Samuel.

The play has picked up a slew of theatre awards including the Off West End Award for Best New Play, an Evening Standard Award for Most Promising Playwright for Tyrell Williams, The Stage Debut Award for Best Writer, the Critics’ Circle Theatre Award for Most Promising Playwright and the George Devine Award.

Red Pitch is playing at @sohoplace theatre in London until 4 May 2024.
