StarKid’s cult horror-comedy musicalThe Guy Who Didn’t Like Musicals played at the Apollo Theatre in Londons’ West End from 14-30 May 2026. This production has now closed.

Originally a YouTube phenomenon in 2018, The Guy Who Didn’t Like Musicals follows office worker Paul Matthews, whose perfectly ordinary life implodes when an alien invasion transforms his town into a nightmarish musical theatre extravaganza. Expect catchy tunes, sharp comedy, sci-fi chaos and gloriously unhinged musical mayhem.

With a devoted global fanbase built across 358 million YouTube views, Team StarKid now brings one of its most iconic shows to the West End stage for the very first time.

About StarKid Productions

StarKid exploded onto the global stage with the viral hit A Very Potter Musical in 2009. Since then they’ve produced 15 full-length musicals, three national tours, sketch shows with The Second City, and multiple Billboard #1 cast albums. Their YouTube channel has amassed over 358 million views.

Their UK live debut at The London Palladium in 2024 sold out instantly, followed by another sell-out show in 2025. Now they’re back with their first fully-staged West End season.

This cult favourite blends horror, comedy, sci-fi and high-energy musical theatre into an infectiously funny experience. When an alien entity crash-lands in Hatchetfield, the townspeople begin transforming into singing, dancing musical zombies — much to Paul’s horror.

The 2026 London run is a newly remounted production promising “bigger chaos, sharper laughs and more show-stopping musical mayhem” than ever before.
