What's the story of Lobby Hero?

The lobby of a Manhattan apartment building is much more than a waiting area for four New Yorkers who are involved in a murder investigation… A young security guard with big ambitions clashes with his stern boss, an intense rookie cop and her unpredictable partner.

The lobby becomes a testing ground for what happens when personal and professional personas find themselves at odds, and emotions come in conflict with principles.

Is Kenneth Lonergan’s acclaimed play Lobby Hero coming to the West End starring Succession’s Nicholas Braun?
Kenneth Lonergan's acclaimed 2001 play Lobby Hero is rumoured to be getting a new production in the West End. Baz in Deadline broke the news that a new production of Lobby Hero may be making its way to London, with stars rumoured to be attached including Nicholas Braun, who played cousin Greg Hirsch in HBO's award-winning drama Succession. Directors tipped to be helming the show include Trip Cullman (Six Degrees of Separation), who directed the 2018 Broadway production starring Chris Evans, Michael Cera, Brian Tyree Henry and Bel Powley. The Guardian gave the production four stars and hailed it as "a stylish production... brimming with smart dialogue and fine performances". The Manchester by the Sea and Gangs of New York writer's last major West End production was The Starry Messenger at the Wyndham's Theatre in 2019 starring Matthew Broderick, who is currently playing alongside his real-life wife Sarah Jessica Parker in Plaza Suite at London's Savoy Theatre. Lobby Hero looks at how choices under pressure define who we really are as four characters involved in a murder investigation clash in the lobby of a Manhattan apartment building. The play had its London debut in 2002 at the Donmar Warehouse starring David Tennant, who is currently starring in Macbeth, which is also at the Donmar. Nicholas Braun is mainly a screen actor, with few professional theatre credits. If he does star in Lobby Hero it would be his West End stage debut. Braun's screen credits include playing Greg Hirsch in HBO TV series Succession, for which he received three Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.
