Casting has been announced for the World Premiere of This Might Not Be It at the Bush Theatre in London.
This Might Not Be It, a new play that unflinchingly confronts the hard truths of our crumbling NHS mental health services, opens at the Bush Theatre on 30 January 2024. The show will star Denzel Baidoo, currently appearing in James Graham’s hit play Dear England at the Prince Edward Theatre, in the role of Jay; stage and TV actress Debra Baker, whose credits include Michael Grandage directed Orlando with Emma Corrin, Netflix show Supacell, Russell T Davies It’s A Sin, BBC shows Call The Midwife & King Gary – as Angela; and, Dolly Webb, a Guildhall School of Music graduate who makes her professional debut as Steph.
This candid portrayal of human lives at the mercy of the system is written by former Bush Emerging Writers’ Group member Sophia Chetin-Leuner, directed by Ed Madden (Octopolis, Hampstead) and produced by Broccoli Arts (Salty Irina, Summerhall) in association with Jessie Anand Productions (Orlando, 59E59).
This Might Not Be It was shortlisted for The Women’s Prize for Playwriting 2020 and longlisted for the Verity Bargate Award 2020.
The show is playing at the Bush Theatre in London from 30 January to 2 March 2024.
