Queer Eye’s Tan France to co-produce The P Word
Two acclaimed LGBTQ+ plays are returning to the Bush Theatre this summer.
Olivier Award-winning play The P Word by Waleed Akhtar is back in London with its original cast, and hit drama Tender by Eleanor Tindall is also returning.
The P Word
Waleed Akhtar’s 2023 Olivier Award-winning play The P Word is back at the Bush Theatre from 28 May to 27 June 2026.
The drama charts the parallel lives of two gay Pakistani men under the UK government’s increasingly hostile position against migrants, and will feature the original cast of Waleed Akhtar alongside Esh Alladi.

Having grown up in a South Asian Muslim household in the UK, Zafar and Bilal’s story really spoke to me. Their experiences are happening all over the world, and it’s so important to bring these stories to the stage, spark conversations, and reflect on the society we live in.” – Tan France
The P Word is once again directed by Anthony Simpson-Pike, and joining the co-production team is Emmy Award-winning TV personality and producer Tan France (Queer Eye).
The show is also co-presented by Seventh Productions and Chuchu Nwagu Productions.

Tender
Also back for 2026 following a sold-out success in 2024 is Tender by Eleanor Tindall, from 9 July to 1 August 2026.
The play subverts expectations of queer love stories, in a thrilling story about two women who find each other without knowing they were looking.
Directed by Emily Aboud, casting for the production is to be announced.
