The Donmar Warehouse presents a new production of Anton Checkhov’s The Cherry Orchard starring Homeland’s Nina Hoss and Sherwood’s Adeel Akhtar.
Adapted and directed by acclaimed, award-winning creator Benedict Andrews (The Seagull, Three Sisters, A Streetcar Named Desire), The Cherry Orchard is Chekhov’s masterpiece: a work that predicted and captured the end of an era, but is timeless in its humanity, prescience, humour and pathos.
A tremendous cast includes celebrated German actor Nina Hoss (Homeland, Tár) making her London stage debut as Ranevskaya, and two-time BAFTA award winner Adeel Akhtar (Sherwood, Murdered by My Father) returning to the London stage, playing Ermolai Lopakhin.
The Cherry Orchard is playing at the Donmar Warehouse from 26 April to 22 June 2024.
Can anyone persuade Ranevskaya and her aristocratic household that the world is changing, and they must too?
