The current UK tour of Shrek The Musical is coming to London next Summer 2024.
Shrek The Musical will play the Eventim Apollo in London from 19 July to 31 August 2024.
The show will star Antony Lawrence (The Lion King, Mary Poppins, Matilda the Musical) as Shrek, with Strictly Come Dancing star Joanne Clifton (The Addams Family) as Princess Fiona, Olivier-Award nominated James Gillan (Everybody’s Talking About Jamie, Wicked, Taboo! ) as the evil Lord Farquaad, and Brandon Lee Sears (Dreamgirls, Come From Away, Motown) as Donkey.
The producers, Mark Goucher, Gavin Kalin and Matthew Gale, have brought together a whole new creative team for this production of Shrek The Musical, to re-image the award-winning Broadway and West End show for a new audience.
The production features all of the classic characters from the Oscar-winning DreamWorks animated film, and the songs and story from David Lindsay-Abaire and Jeanine Tesori’s original musical, that also has a book by William Steig
Directed by Sam Holmes and Nick Winston, the creative team also includes Choreography by Nick Winston; Set and Costume Design by Philip Witcomb; Lighting by Ben Cracknel; Sound by Ben Harrison; Casting by Jim Arnold; Projection Design by Nina Dunn;and, and Puppet Design by Jimmy Grimes.
The Shrek the Musical tour is currently playing at the Eastbourne Congress Theatre to 18 November, and then the Cardiff Wales Millennium Centre from 20 to 25 November. Forthcoming dates include York Grand Opera House, Blackpool Winter Gardens, Glasgow King’s Theatre, Edinburgh Playhouse, Coventry Belgrade Theatre, Sunderland Empire Theatre, Liverpool Empire Theatre, Southampton Mayflower Theatre and Milton Keynes Theatre.
