Major new West End musical The Time Traveller’s Wife has revealed final casting for the show, aheads of its premiere in October 2023.
Already announced are David Hunter (Waitress, Kinky Boots, Once) and Joanna Woodward (Pretty Woman The Musical, Beautiful: The Carole King Musical) as Henry and Clare, along with Tim Mahendran (& Juliet) as Gomez, Hiba Elchikhe (Everybody’s Talking About Jamie ) as Charisse and Ross Dawes (Disney’s Newsies) as Henry’s Dad.
They will be joined by Sorelle Marsh (Mamma Mia!) as Henry’s Mum, Alwyne Taylor (Claus) as the Librarian, Irfan Damani (The SpongeBob Musical) as Clare’s Dad, Alexandra Doar (Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat) as Clare’s Mum, Alex Lodge (The Osmonds) as Jason/Mark, and Helena Pipe (Blues For An Alabama Sky) as Dr Kendrick.
Also in the cast are Billie Hardy, Daniel George-Wright, Serina Mathew, Nathaniel Purnell and Bobby Windebank. The role of Young Clare and Alba will be shared by Ava Critchell, Lily Hanna, Poppy Pawson and Holly-Jade Roberts.
Also today, a behind-the-scenes rehearsal video has been released, featuring interviews with the cast of the show.
Based on the best-selling book by Audrey Niffenegger and the movie screenplay by Bruce Joel Rubin, The Time Traveller’s Wife boasts original musical from multi Grammy Award-winning composers Joss Stone, and Dave Stewart from Eurythmics.
The shows’s book is by Lauren Gunderson, with additional songs by Nick Finlow (music) and Kait Kerrigan (lyrics).
The Time Traveller’s Wife promises to be a joyous, uplifting celebration of the strange wonder of love, however and whenever we experience it, and weaves a heart-breaking and soaring original musical score with one of the most beloved novels of the last 50 years.
This world premiere production will open at the Apollo Theatre in London, running from 7 October 2023 to 30 March 2024.
