Hampstead Theatre present the world premiere of Octopolis, a new play by Marek Horn.
A fascinating and funny exploration of love, grief and what makes us human, Octopolis stars Jemma Redgrave and Ewan Miller.
Jemma Redgrave’s extensive TV credits include Holby City, Doctor Who, Grantchester, Silent Witness and Midsomer Murders. Jemma returns to Hampstead, where she was last seen in Farewell to the Theatre, to play Professor George Grey a brilliant behavioural biologist world-renowned for her pioneering research into octopus intelligence.
Recently seen on stage in Much Ado About Nothing (National Theatre), The Comedy of Errors and A Christmas Carol (both Citizens Theatre, Glasgow) and on screen in ITV’s Crime, Ewan Miller makes his debut at Hampstead playing Harry, the ambitious anthropologist.
Octopolis runs from 15 September to 28 October 2023 at Hampstead Theatre, London.
What's the story of Octopolis?
Professor George Grey is world-renowned for her pioneering research into octopus intelligence. Recently bereaved, her closest relationship these days is with her research subject: Frances, who resides in a large, purpose-built tank in George’s campus accommodation.
But when ambitious anthropologist Harry enters her life, his breathtaking new theory threatens to tear her world apart in more ways than one…
