West End comedy Bleak Expectations has revealed the final line-up of celebrity guest narrators before the show leaves London on 13 August 2023.
Stephen Mangan, Hugh Dennis, Tom Allen, Jack Dee, Alexander Armstrong and Stephen Fry are each set to appear in weekly runs at the Criterion Theatre.
Mark Evans’ Bleak Expectations has been entertaining audiences with its slapstick comedy and starry lineup of special guest stars since beginning its limited season in London in May.
The full performance schedule of guest narrators for the final weeks of the limited run is: 4-9 July: Stephen Mangan, 11-16 July: Hugh Dennis, 18-23 July: Tom Allen, 25-30 July: Jack Dee, 1-6 August: Alexander Armstrong, 8-13 August: Stephen Fry.
Other guest stars who have already trod the boards in Bleak Expectations during the production’s West End run include Nina Wadia, Dermot O’Leary, Sally Philips, Sue Perkins, Julian Clary, Adjoa Andoh, Craig Ferguson and Lee Mack.
Bleak Expectations follows young Pip’s extraordinary exploits with sisters Pippa and Poppy plus best friend Harry Biscuit as they attempt to escape the calculating clutches of the dastardly Mr Gently Benevolent, defeat the hideous Hardthrasher siblings, and deflect disaster at every turn.
Writer of Bleak Expectations, Mark Evans, said; “Six weeks and six amazing names left… I’m going to see all of them, so who fancies joining me? Bring the family, bring your friends, bring random people you meet in the street — but don’t miss out on the last month and a half of this rather silly, very funny, family-friendly show, all with added guest star appeal!”
Bleak Expectations is running at the Criterion Theatre until 13 August 2023. Next up at the Criterion is new comedy The Way Old Friends Do, playing from 17 August 2023.
