The forthcoming UK tour of Simon Beaufoy’s The Full Monty has announced casting details.
The show will star Danny Hatchard (EastEnders) as Gaz, Jake Quickenden (Hair, Footloose) as Guy, Bill Ward (Coronation Street) as Gerald, Neil Hurst (All Creatures Great and Small) as Dave, Ben Onwukwe (The Shawshank Redemption) as Horse and Nicholas Prasad (Around the World in 80 Days) as Lomper.
The Full Monty will start its tour at the Everyman Theatre in Cheltenham on 14 September 2023, and visit cities and towns including Coventry York, Southampton, Glasgow, Cardiff, Belfast, Manchester and Leicester.
The revival was announced last month, and is timed to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the hit movie version of the story.
This fast and funny play sees Gaz and his mates down on their luck and feeling that they have been thrown on the scrap heap. But they are determined to fight back, and decide to bare a little more than they ever thought they would have to!
The show is directed by Michael Gyngell, with choreography and intimacy co-ordination by Ian West, Set and Costume design is by Jasmine Swann, Lighting design by Andrew Exeter and Sound design by Chris Whybrow. The Casting Director is Marc Frankum.
The Full Monty is produced by the Everyman Theatre Cheltenham & Buxton Opera House in association with Mark Goucher and David Pugh.
