Michael Morpurgo’s Pigs Might Fly is heading back out on tour this year.
Based on a story from Michael Morpurgo’s Mudpuddle Farm, the show has a book, music and lyrics by Caroline Wigmore and Jen Green.
Pigs Might Fly will start its run at Theatre Peckham on 24 May 2023, before visiting other London venues including the New Wimbledon Theatre and Richmond Theatre. The show will also play Woking, Torquay, Brighton and Milton Keynes.
This 50 minute family show for 3 to 11 year olds is directed by Kate Golledge, and casting will be announced soon.
Billed as a bold and energetic new musical, the show follows the air-raising adventures of Pintsize, the youngest and most daring piglet on Mudpuddle Farm, and brings the farmyard to life with catchy songs, puppetry, and plenty of frolicsome fun.
Joining Kate Golledge in the creative team is choreographer Chris Whittaker (Lady Chatterley’s Lover, Gatsby), set and costume designer Stewart J Charlesworth (From Here To Eternity, The Dark), lighting designer Aaron J Dootson, sound designer Ella Wahlström and production photographer Melanie Bright.
