A full scale production of Treason The Musical will open in the UK later this year.
Set to blow you away with stunning original folk and pop songs, this one-of-a-kind show tells one of the most intriguing tales in Britain’s history as it’s never been seen before. The Gunpowder Plot of 1605 in which disaffected protestants planned to blow up the government and King at the state opening of parliament on 5 November.
Bringing with it the historic tale of division, religious persecution, and brutality, ending in an ambitious yet fateful plot to bring down both the monarchy and the government. Its thwarting is still celebrated in England on 5 November but it better known as Bonfire Night.
The show has already been seen in concept album form where it was streamed from Cadogan Hall andwas performed in concert twice at Theatre Royal Drury Lane last summer. Treason has music by Ricky Allan, and book and lyrics by Ricky Allan and Kieran Lynn and features the songs “Take Things Into Our Own Hands”, “The Day Elizabeth Died” and “Blind Faith”.
Ricky Allan said, “we’re immensely grateful to those who joined us for our two sold out Drury Lane shows, we hope that ‘Plotters’ from all around the world will enjoy listening to this latest offering and we can’t wait to welcome you to the fully staged show later this year!”
Casting and venue has yet to be announced.
