Treason, an explosive new musical about the Gunpowder Plot will return to the stage this November.

Set to blow you away with stunning original folk and pop songs, this one-of-a-kind show tells one of the most intriguing tales in Britain’s history as it’s never been seen before.

Bringing with it the historic tale of division, religious persecution, and brutality, ending in an ambitious yet fateful plot to bring down both the monarchy and the government. This new British musical will be presented in a full-scale production for the first time ever.

An impressive cast includes Nicole Raquel Dennis (Dreamgirls, Dear Evan Hansen, The Voice) as Martha Percy, Joe McFadden (Holby City, The Rocky Horror Show, Priscilla Queen of the Desert) as King James I of England, and Emilie Louise Israel (Hamilton; Once on This Island) as Anne Vaux.

Treason is based on the notorious 1605 Gunpowder Plot in which disaffected catholics planned to assassinate the protestant English monarch King James I, by blowing up the Houses of Parliament, and installing his 9-year-old daughter Elizabeth as a Catholic head of state. Due to occur at the State Opening of Parliament on 5 November, the plot was foiled and all the men were hunted down and sentenced to be hung, drawn and quartered.

The cast features: Joe McFadden as King James, Nicole Raquel Dennis as Martha Percy, Sam Ferriday as Thomas Percy,  Oscar Conlon-Morrey as Robert Cecil and Emilie Louise Israel as Anne Vaux.

The Plotters are Gabriel Akamo as Fawkes, Kyle Cox as Jack Wright, Lewis Edgar as Little Wintour, Connor Jones as Robert Catesby and Alfie Richards as Big Wintour.

Playing “The Eyes”, the ensemble is comprised of Femi Akinfolarin, Filippo Coffano, Megan Curley, Elena Gyasi, Naomi Katiyo, Louis Makrodt and Dan Gill.
