The producers of & Juliet have announced full casting for the Australian production of the hit musical.
As previously announced, the lead role of Juliet will be played by Lorinda May Merrypor, who stars in the show from February 2023 at Melbourne’s Regent Theatre.
Star of stage and screen Rob Mills (Hairspray, Jesus Christ Superstar, Wicked, Ghost The Musical) will take on the role of Shakespeare, with leading lady and theatre icon Amy Lehpamer (School of Rock The Musical, The Sound of Music) playing his wife, Anne. The role of Angélique will be played by the showstopping superstar Casey Donovan (Chicago, We Will Rock You, Australian Idol) and the star-crossed lover Romeo will be played by the wildly talented industry heartthrob Blake Appelqvist (Bonnie & Clyde, The Lovers).
Rounding out our principal cast, Hayden Tee (Into The Woods, South Pacific, Les Miserables) returns home to Australia from Broadway and the West End to play Lance. Two rising stars Jesse Dutlow will play the role of May and Yashith Fernando will play Francois.
Joining them on stage is the cast of incredible players Georgia Anderson as Susanna, Jade Delmiguez as Eleanor, James Elmer as Kempe, Riley Gill as Imogen/Benvolio, Jerome Javier as Thomas, Giorgia Kennedy as Judith, Jordan Koulos as Richard, Sarah Murr as Lady Capulet/Nell, Coby Njoroge as Augustine, Jake O’Brien as Fletcher, Clay Roberts as Henry, Jacob Rozario as Gregory, Selina Salgadoe as Gwynne, Sean Sinclair as Lord Capulet/Sly, Nathan James Tamati as Cuthbert, Romy Vuksan as Margaret, Aadhya Wijegoonawardena as Viola and Imani Williams as Lucy.
& Juliet has a book by Schitt’s Creek writer David West Read, and music by Grammy Award-winning songwriter/producer Max Martin. The Australian production is produced by Michael Cassel Group in association with MTM/LeyLine.
The show is currently playing at the Shaftesbury Theatre in London until March 2023, and opened this month on Broadway.
