Tom Ratcliffe’s play Wreckage transfers to Turbine Theatre
New Edinburgh Fringe play Wreckage is coming to London. The play by Tom Ratcliffe will run at the Turbine Theatre in South London from 5 to 22 January 2022. Wreckage stars Ratcliffe and Michael Walters (The Inheritance) as a couple whose lives are disrupted in this touching story about continuing bonds and love that only evolves, and never dies. Directed by Rikki Beadle-Blair, the creative team also includes lighting designer Rachel Sampley, sound designer Mwen, casting director Nadine Rennie and producer Rory Davies. Tom Ratcliffe said in a statement that: "I'm absolutely delighted that Wreckage is coming to London and the Turbine Theatre in January before heading on tour. The reception with audiences in Edinburgh has been overwhelming and it has been incredibly moving to hear from audiences who have connected with the material. I've been a big fan of the Turbine and Paul's work for a long time and it's very exciting to be bringing the show back to where it all started at Rally Fest in 2021. Wreckage is a story that I'm hoping will continue to touch audience members' hearts. It is a love story filled with loss, guilt, joy, and everything in between." Originally commissioned by Harlow Playhouse, the play was first performed at the Turbine Theatre in 2021. Tom Ratcliffe is an Oxford School of Drama graduate, and in 2020 was the recipient of the JB Priestley Award for Writers of Promise. Tom's new play Fame Whore is also playing in London soon, at the King's Head Theatre from 5 to 29 October 2022, starring Gigi Zahir. More about Wreckage at the Turbine Theatre in London
