The Woman In Black, the multi-award winning and long-running West End thriller, has reached a new milestone, marking its 13,000th performance in London today, Saturday 13 August 2022.
In June 2019 The Woman in Black celebrated its 30th Anniversary, having opened at the Fortune Theatre in London’s West End in 1989. Earlier that year the play did stints at the Lyric Hammersmith, Strand Theatre (now the Novello Theatre), and the Playhouse Theatre, before settling at its permanent home.
In June, The Woman in Black cast changed, as it does every 9 months, with Julian Forsyth returning to the role of Arthur Kipps, and Matthew Spencer reprising his role as The Actor.
Stephen Mallatratt’s adaptation of the classic horror novel by Susan Hill is currently the 4th longest running show in London theatre history, behind The Mousetrap (St. Martin’s Theatre), Les Misérables (Sondheim Theatre) and The Phantom of the Opera (Her Majesty’s Theatre).
The Woman in Black is booking until 29 April 2023 at the Fortune Theatre, London.
